On October 23, a Beijing Opera cultural inheritance event was held at Shenyang Normal University, attracting over one hundred Chinese and international students to learn and experience the art of Beijing Opera with lively interest. The international students come from 11 countries, including Russia, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkmenistan, and Senegal.

At the event, Xiao Di, the third-generation inheritor of the Mei School of Beijing Opera, introduced the basic knowledge of Beijing Opera and the artistic characteristics of the Mei School Beijing Opera to the students. She also performed excerpts from Farewell to My Concubine and Mu Guiying Takes Command. Intrigued, the international students wore the opera costumes to learn how to wield water sleeves, and the basic stage movements of hands, eyes, body, and feet and their specific standards in the performance under the guidance of teachers. After the experience activity, they expressed and exchanged the feelings of immersing themselves in the art of Beijing Opera, and also shared photos of wearing Beijing Opera costumes on social media, to let more people admire the charm of the art of Beijing Opera.
